Dying Light is an open world first person action-adventure survival horror video game developed by Polish video game developer Techland and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Announced in May 2013, it was released in January 2015 for Microsoft Windows, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game was once planned to be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but was later cancelled due to hardware limitations.
The game revolves around an undercover agent named Kyle Crane who is sent to infiltrate a quarantine zone in a city called Harran. It features an enemy-infested, open-world city with a dynamic day and night cycle. The day-night cycle changes the game drastically, as enemies become more aggressive and more difficult to deal with during night time. The gameplay is focused on weapons-based combat and parkour. The game also features an asymmetrical multiplayer mode (originally set to be a pre-order bonus); and a four-player, co-operative multiplayer mode.
The development of the game began in early 2012. Prior to the game's official announcement, several reports claimed that Dying Light was a sequel to Dead Island, another franchise created by Techland. The rumor was later denied. The game's parkour system puts emphasis on natural movement. To implement that, Techland had to abandon most of the story elements, and had to build them again from scratch. The music development was handled by Paweł Błaszczak. According to him, the soundtrack was inspired by movie soundtracks of the '70s and '80s.
At release, Dying Light received positive reviews from critics, with praise mainly directed at the combat, graphics, co-operative multiplayer, navigation and the day-night cycle, while receiving criticism regarding the story, difficulty and technical issues. The game was the best-selling title for the month of January 2015 and broke the record for the first month sales for a new survival horror intellectual property. Techland announced that they would be committed to the game after its release. As a result, in May 2015, they put another project on hold to concentrate on the post-release development of Dying Light. The team released numerous updates, and two downloadable content packages, namely Cuisine & Cargo and The Bozak Horde. An expansion, titled Dying Light: The Following was announced as well and was released on February 9, 2016.
Dying Light is a first-person zombie apocalypse-themed game set in an open world. Players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious epidemic, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population with a heavy focus on parkour mechanics, allowing players to perform actions such as climbing ledges, leaping off from edges, sliding, jumping from roofs to roofs and zip-lining.Parkour mechanics also applied on combat. Players can perform action such as drop-kicking when engaging combat with enemies.A grappling hook is also featured in the game, allowing players to climb up buildings and travel between places quickly.
The game is mostly melee-based with the majority of fighting using melee weapons. There are more than 100 weapons that can be used and more than 1000 weapon possibilities when players begin crafting new weapons.[7][8] The melee-weapons have a limited lifespan and will be degraded and eventually broken if the player uses them for combat for a long time. Players can repair a weapon a limited number of times. Crafting weapons require crafting ingredients such as gauze and metal parts and a blueprint, which can be scavenged or purchased from a shop. Guns are also featured in the game, but players will only gain access to it in the later half of the game. However, ammo is often very scarce. The variety of guns consists of two types of assault rifles and a variety of small firearms and shotguns. Gun customization is very limited but guns don't break or become unusable after an extended amount of use.
Dying Light contains a dynamic day and night cycle. During the day, the player has to go out and scavenge for supplies to send back to the safe zones. They can set up traps, save random survivors, and make their way to airdrops. The infected are slow, apathetic, and easily visible, allowing the player to simply make their way past them, but their danger grows in numbers.Players can also use environmental traps, such as spikes and electrified fences to kill the infected.Lead game designer Maciej Binkowski stated that day time will last for approximately 64 minutes, while night time will last for approximately 7 minutes. The game also features a physics-based lighting system and a dynamic weather system, which includes a variety of conditions such as fog, rain, and wind.
At night the infected transform to become much more dangerous. Without daylight, the senses of the infected become more acute and accurate. They gain the ability to sprint after the player and have increased damage, as well as the ability to jump and climb buildings like the player. In order for players to avoid contact, they need to use their 'Survivor Sense' to locate the infected in the dark to stay out of their way.If spotted and trying to escape their pursuers, players can use distractions and traps to lower their numbers. Players can use sound to lure the enemies. The player's main defense against the infected is ultraviolet light, which slows them down.
A variety of actions in Dying Light can help players to earn experience points. Engaging in combat with enemies will help players to earn Power points, while performing parkour movement can earn Agility points. Completing missions, challenges and quests will help players to earn Survival points. If the players earns experience, they can spend skill points on a skill tree and upgrade the playable character with new skills. During daytime, if the player's character is killed, survival points will be deducted. In contrast, no survival point will be deducted if the player's character is killed at night. All experience points will also be boosted if the player explores at night.
On 1 October 2014, Techland announced that there will be over 50 hours of gameplay in the full version of the game including all downloadable content.

Dying Light All Quarantine Zone Locations Guide (20)
There are eight Quarantine Zones in Dying Light. They aren’t shown on the in-game map until you’ve discovered them. Five of them are found in The Slums, while the other three are in Old Town. Finding them gives you an objective, and finishing the objective clears the area. Clearing the area within these Quarantine zones gives you Disaster Relief On-site Packages that you can turn in to the quartermaster, as well as survivor skill points, lore etc. Finishing all eight zones gets you the Tresspasing achievement. The Camouflage skill from the Survivor skill tree comes extremely handy here and it makes fighting far easier.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 2 500 Survivor Points
Story: When the infection started to spread, a group of people tried to take refuge in a local supermarket. They gathered resources, secured what they could and waited for rescue. Which never came. The broadcasting system lured the infected to the market center. They quickly found their way inside, attacking any survivors, leaving the supplies to rot.
This Quarantine Zone is located within the market area, where you can hear voices through the store speaker. If you have walked past this store you would remember it for sure, as it is the only one with the unique setting. In order to stop the current electrifying the floor inside the store, you have to use the switch located next to the doors that lead to the storage room. Once you do it, the switch breaks and cannot be used again. There are a bunch of infected inside the next room, but that’s about it.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 2 500 Survivor Points
Story: When panic broke out, crisis forces escorted a large group of healthy citizens inside an underground parking, away from the infected. They established a temporary refugee camp, they set some perimeter blockades and hoped for the best. All for nothing. There was an outbreak and everything went to hell, so the military sealed this placed and left everyone inside to their fate.
This Quarantine zone is found in the northwestern Slums. It might be the toughest one to complete, as it is the only Quarantine that has Volatiles inside the perimeter. You have to kill, or pass by them if you want to collect Packages that are scattered around the underground parking, hidden inside vans and cars. Several of the cars have working alarms.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 7 500 Survivor Points
Story: The building was sealed by military forces when they began their retreat, when the infection started to run rampant across the town. Consequently, everyone inside was trapped when their neighbours succumbed to the infection and changed. Groups developed, trying to barricade themselves from the threat, fighting to live another day, but they were all doomed from the start.
The Quarantine zone in this location is found at the rear entrance of a two-storied building in the northwestern Slums. Inside the building there is a fire, with smoke raging throughout the rooms. From time to time it will lower your health. Scout the rooms for infected and clear the building of them.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 2 500 Survivor Points
Story: Something went terribly wrong in this chemical storage compound. Now the place is completely contaminated with toxic spills and the infected crawling around the place turned into strange and hideous forms. Extremely dangerous. Too bad that the facility also contained packages of haz-mat and disaster relief supplies, which would be very useful to survivors.
This Quarantine zone is located inside the large Storage area, just north from the Rais’ Slums compound. Beside the first group of infected that are easy to defeat, you also come in contact with several toads. These enemies fire toxic bolts toward you. What an odd surrounding for them.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 2 500 Survivor Points
Story: A Good Will Relief transport got stuck in this tunnel when a transport of chemical waste was derailed, covering one end of the tunnel in a deadly toxic cloud. Soon after, the military declared it a quarantine zone and blocked any passage in and out of this place. Like all tunnels, it is crawling with enemies, but the stuff left there is just too good to leave to rot. Got to be careful. Some survivors might have tried to get their hands on the supplies, who knows what happened to them?
This Quarantine zone is located inside a small railroad tunnel, in the southeastern Slums. You should be able to find it easily, as the railroad leads to this location. This is one of the hardest Quarantine Zones for completion. What makes it hard is the amount of enemies you find inside. It seems that they even respawn, making it impossible to clear the area. A large number of them are bombers, waiting for you behind every corner.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 7 500 Survivor Points
Story: When the Global Athletic Games were at their peak, this hotel hosted many sports teams. No one knows if it was one of them, or if it came from outside, but the hotel became one of the first centers of the infection. The military shut it off as soon as the outbreak started, convicting all those locked inside to a fate worse then death. Now the place is in ruin, but invaluable supplies can still be found there.
This Quarantine zone is found in northwestern Old Town, inside the Dragon Hotel. Four out of five Packages are found inside the rooms, while the fifth one is in the elevator. You have to climb to the third floor and start searching for the packages from there.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 15 000 Survivor Points
Story: The infection must have set in real fast, if it took some people completely by surprise. This place was being renovated, when the workers started to change. Almost no casualties. Entire working parties simply transformed into crazed and volatile infected, creating one of the most dangerous infection hives in the quarantine zone.
This Quarantine zone is found in eastern Old Town. The road leads to the underground passage where the parking lot is. There are a couple of large groups of infected inside this compound, with no Volatiles and one Goon (two handed sledgehammer bearer). There is also an “ultimate” weapon inside this parking lot. It is the bricks! For some reason I really like them.
Difficulty: Hard
Reward: 7 500 Survivor Points
Story: After the recent mild quakes, property developers encouraged apartment owners to equip every apartment with supply packages, just in case. This place, although ravaged by the hordes of infected, might still have some intact resources to claim. An earthquake might not happen for a while, but these supplies will certainly be useful to survivors now.
The Quarantine zone in this location is found inside one large quarantine building, in southwestern Old Town. The first package is found on the ground floor, two of them on the first floor, while the last package is on the last floor. You have to move a cabinet to enter the room where the first package at the ground floor is.

Techland have a new video of Dying Light: The Following up. It contains the early missions of the new campaign, along with some freeform driving and a commentary from one of the developers.
The story takes place in a brand new area, far from the city. The map is roughly the same size as the one in the base game, but it’s more rural. The protagonist meets a man who tells him about people immune to the disease, so he decides to investigate. There will be new weapons (like the crossbow), buggies to drive (and upgrade with gadgets), and lots of places to scale and jump from.
Dying Light: The Following will launch on February 9th. Season Pass holders will get it for free. An enhanced edition of the game, containing all the DLC, will be released shortly after.

Dying Light: The Following Dune Buggy Customization Video (17)
Techland have released a new trailer for Dying Light’s The Following DLC. It’s called Weaponize Your Ride, and it shows off and explains the dune buggy customization, upgrades and modifications.
First up are the cosmetic changes. You’ll be able to choose from a bunch of different paint jobs, but we’re still unsure whether custom paint will be available. It seems like you’ll be stuck with the presets. There will also be knick-knacks to unlock, like dashboard bobbleheads and keychains to plaster all over your vehicle.
After that comes the tweaking. There are five slots on the buggy for technical improvements, like engine upgrades, wheels and suspension, which affect your top speed, acceleration, braking and handling.
Finally, there’s the equipment. What’s a dune buggy without a flamethrower? There will be several upgrades to choose from, and you’ll get to equip two. This will allow you to, for example, install an electric cage, along with a car alarm. When you trigger the latter, nearby zombies will start flocking at the car. When you trigger the former, it’ll send them flying.
The Following is a paid-for DLC that is going to be released on February 9th. The price is still unknown, but since it’s expected to be quite a hefty update, don’t expect it to be cheap.

There will be three kinds of bounties available:
- The first kind will track certain stats and reward you for increasing them – like the number of decapitated enemies, zombies killed or chases survived. You’ll be able to complete these while playing missions or messing about the open world.
- The second kind are daily bounties. They will change every day, and include a task you need to perform. An example that was provided was climbing the tallest point in Harran.

Where to find fuel for buggy - Dying Light: The Following (12)
Silas Buggy is the new vehicle available in Dying Light: The Following. You’ll use it to travel across the map, but also to fight zombies with cool gadgets. The trouble with the car is that it can be damaged and needs fuel to work. Since everything has gone to hell, you can’t just pull up at a gas station and fill the tank up. This guide will show you where to find fuel for the buggy in Dying Light: The Following.
There are a few gas stations that still work, but the best way to get fuel is to syphon it out of abandoned cars. You’ll find lots of them along the roads in the countryside, and looting them is easy. You just need to approach the fuel tank cap and press the Search button. One syphoning equals one unit of fuel, which you’ll have to manually pour into your buggy. The car has a limited capacity, but you’ll be able to carry around the extra gasoline in your inventory.
When looting cars, don’t forget to check under the hood as well. There might be upgrade parts for your buggy there. You’ll need these to make it stronger and faster.

Arrows Blueprint Location | Dying Light: The Following (11)
Arrows are ammo for the bows in Dying Light: The Following. They can be reused – just pull them out of corpses and they’re ready to be shot again. The downside is – they’re a little expensive. This guide will show you where to find the arrows blueprint in DL: The Following, so you don’t have to spend a fortune on them.
After you’ve finished the story mission Gaining Credence, go to Bilal’s Gas Station. It’s down the road east of Jasir’s Farm. Climb to the roof of the gas station, and you’ll see a merchant there. He sells a lot of nice weapons, but also the arrow blueprint. You can buy it for just $1600. After that, you’ll be able to craft arrows in batches of eight. The materials you’ll need are:
